Considering purchasing a flocked tree?
Read how King of Christmas has converted a loyal real tree lover.
When it comes to the holidays, our family takes a rare pause from traveling to create memories right at home. As much as we love exploring new places, Christmas is a special time when we slow down and focus on making home as magical as our travels. And for us, that starts with the Christmas tree.
In my 40 years of living, I’ve always had a real tree, but over the years, I couldn’t help but admire how stunning King of Christmas trees looked. So, I decided to partner with them and see if their flocked tree could win me over as I loved our real flocked tree, but boy was it a lot of work!
Admittedly, I was skeptical. I put the tree up in early October—yes, that early—just to test it out and give myself enough time to grab a real tree if it didn’t meet expectations. But, spoiler alert: I loved it. So much so, that I left it up and made my very first Halloween tree out of it.
This blog post will detail why I think the King of Christmas flocked tree deserves a place in your home this holiday season, as well as compare it to a real flocked Christmas tree.
What’s Included
Since this was my first artificial Christmas tree, I honestly didn’t know what to expect—especially in terms of what would be included. My 10-foot King Flock Artificial Tree Unit from King of Christmas arrived in two large boxes, and I was pleasantly surprised by what I found inside. Not only did it come with the tree itself, but it also included an easy-to-use stand and storage bags.
Having everything I needed right out of the box made setting up the tree a breeze, even on my own. The stand was simple to assemble and sturdy enough to support the full height of the tree. Plus, the storage bags are a must for keeping everything organized for future holiday seasons.

The Setup
I was genuinely surprised by how easy it was to set up the King of Christmas flocked tree, especially considering it’s a massive 10-footer. The tree came in four clearly labeled sections, from “A” to “D,” which took the guesswork out of figuring out which piece went where. Each section connected effortlessly, and the branches fanned out perfectly as I assembled them.
The only challenge was the height, but that was expected with a 10-foot tree. A tall ladder was definitely necessary to help me reach the top sections, but once I had that in place, the rest of the setup was smooth sailing. The labeling and clear instructions made what could have been a daunting task feel incredibly manageable.
Overall, I was amazed at how quickly everything came together. What could have been a multi-hour process turned into a simple, stress-free setup. In fact, it took me less than 30 minutes to set up the tree- and that’s with me stopping to take pictures and videos.
From the sturdy stand to the easy-to-connect sections, the King of Christmas Tree made my first experience with an artificial tree a positive one.
The Pros: The Quality
The King of Christmas flocked tree is absolutely GORGEOUS! The front branches are full, long, and perfectly flocked while the back ones are shorter and more on the green side. Plus, the front of each branch cluster is made up of 3 flexible segments, allowing you to fan and adjust the branches however you desire. This flexibility gives the tree the perfect shape.
Likewise, I was pleasantly surprised by how little the flock sheds- even with my Doberman dog rubbing against it day after day- the flock remains. As a mom of twin boys and a dog owner, this fact on its own would make me a fan of King of Christmas.
The Cons: No Scent of Pine
What I love about real Christmas trees is the smell. The pine smell just takes me back to Christmas as a kid. Maybe that’s why I’ve always opted for a real Christmas Tree- the memories and tradition.
This year, the lack of scent isn’t necessarily a bad thing since I’m using the tree for both Halloween and Christmas. This allows me to change the scent for each season- apple and pumpkin scented candles for fall and pine and peppermint incents for Christmas.
In addition to the lack of smell, my family has made a tradition of going tree-hunting together. Recently we would wear coordinated shirts on our quest to find the perfect tree for our home. With an artificial tree, that quest is no longer required. I guess this year, we’ll have to create a new Christmas kickoff tradition.

Compared to Real Flocked Tree
I love the look of a flocked tree, so a few years back, I bit the bullet and paid to get a real tree custom-flocked. It looked beautiful; however, it was A LOT of work. Also, a real flocked tree is challenging to maintain its perfect shape as the flock can become heavy for the branches as the tree gets older- causing some branches to droop.
Additionally, to maintain the tree’s longevity, it’s recommended to spray the tree with water every few days. This can be cute at first, but it becomes a lot, fast.
The most challenging part of a real flocked tree is the mess. My goodness, getting the tree in and out of the house, there was flock EVERYWHERE! Not to mention every time my dog would rub against it, a pile of flock would fall to the floor.
When I had the flock tree, I loved it. It was beautiful! But man, was it a lot of work and would never last long enough to use over two holidays like Halloween and Christmas.

Have I Been Converted?
As I mentioned earlier, I was skeptical about using an artificial tree for the first in my 40 years of living. However, I knew that if I was going to try an artificial tree, it would be from King of Christmas. They have great reviews, and every picture I saw of a King of Christmas tree, was gorgeous.
But do their trees look as gorgeous in person?
The answer is a HARD YES! This tree is absolutely gorgeous!!
The shape, color, and quality all check the necessary boxes. Plus the flock is perfect and does not shed all over the place- even with a large dog and twin kids. This is a big win for me. I need the easy button.
Speaking of the easy button, the setup process was easier than I expected. The clear labels, easy directions, and storage bags will make the tree set up and dismantle a breeze.
So, yes, the King of Christmas’s 10-foot flocked tree has converted me. I honestly don’t have any complaints.
